Moody Pacific Northwest Elopement: A Ferry, A Farm, + Fries

When I think of this moody Pacific Northwest elopement day, I remember it as a day filled with spontaneity, moody weather, and light-hearted silliness. Ezra and Logan invited me to witness the beginning of their happily ever after, and I loved every minute of documenting it! Despite the rain, we carried on and made this an elopement experience these two will cherish for a lifetime.

The Bride & Groom for this Moody Pacific Northwest Elopement

Ezra, the stunning bride, arrived at this elopement shoot ready for anything. She’s definitely an introvert and loved the idea of an intimate celebration with just her and her groom. But she surprised me with her adventurous, down-for-anything attitude. She looked gorgeous in her ballgown wedding dress, complete with a long train, lots of sparkles, and a beautiful pearl-covered cathedral-length veil.

While Ezra’s bridal look was distinctly feminine and made her look like a true princess, she isn’t into all the typical wedding day frills. So, since Ezra doesn’t love florals, she opted for a bouquet of greenery and eucalyptus. Instead of conforming to anyone else’s idea of what a wedding day should look like, she and Logan chose to skip everything that didn’t feel right for their relationship. And that’s exactly what elopements should be, true to you in every way!

A Look Inside this Moody Pacific Northwest Elopement Day

We started with bridal portraits at the beach for Ezra and Logan’s PNW elopement day before heading out on the ferry. Then, the couple chose to make a quick pit stop at McDonald's to fuel up. Finally, we headed to their ultimate elopement location, a GORGEOUS farm with horses and a vintage car.

MOODY PNW BEACH BRIDAL PORTRAITS

These pre-elopement bridal portraits are so Pacific Northwest. We hoped for some sun, but ultimately, this shoot featured moody, heavy cloud cover with small breaks of blue sky peeking through. Still, I love how romantic these final edits turned out!

FERRY RIDE TO E + L’S MOODY PACIFIC NORTHWEST ELOPEMENT LOCATION

The ferry has always been a big part of Ezra’s life and also this couple’s relationship. She grew up taking the ferry every day to her grandpa’s property. Then, later, Logan started riding the ferry when these two started dating. So, they knew their dream elopement had to include a ferry ride!

A SPONTANEOUS ELOPEMENT DAY MCDONALDS PITSTOP

While we were still on the ferry, Ezra suddenly realized how hungry she was. So, as soon as we got off in Poulsbo, we all stopped at McDonald’s and a little local coffee shop to refuel. I loved this fun, spontaneous decision, and so did everyone in line with us. Everyone kept taking pictures of the stunning couple, and the owner even came out to grab a photo for the shop’s social media!

E + L’S MOODY PACIFIC NORTHWEST ELOPEMENT AT A PICTURESQUE FARM

Finally, we headed to Ezra and Logan’s dream elopement location, a beautiful farm with the prettiest horses. As we drove down the property’s drive, the sun finally broke through the clouds and lit up a truly picturesque scene. But, literally, the moment we opened the car doors, the skies opened, and a full-on downpour started out of nowhere!

We jumped back in the car and waited for the rain to stop, but eventually, we realized the weather wasn’t going to let up any time soon. So, Ezra and Logan said, “Screw it!” They still wanted photos at the farm despite the rain. So, I broke out my clear umbrellas, and we powered through. And I’m so glad we did! Seriously, how incredible is that vintage car?
